The Honourable Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu inaugurated the Governing Boards and Councils of nineteen (19) Parastatals and two (2) universities under the Federal Ministry of Education last Thursday at the Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium, NUC, Abuja.
It was an emotional day for the National Universities Commission (NUC) on the 14th of March 2018, when five of its staff were honoured during a send forth ceremony to mark their retirement from the services of the Commission.
The over three months old strike of the non-teaching staff of the Nigerian Universities was called off, 14th March 2018. The non-teaching staff of universities comprise of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non Academic Staff of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the National Association of Academic Technologist (NAAT).
The NUC last, on the 13th of March 2018, presented the Certificate of Recognition of Zamfara State University Talata-Mafara to the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari, making it the 47th State University, 87th Public University and 162nd University in Nigeria
The Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN), led by its President, Professor Benjamin Ubi, on the 7th of March 2018, presented a proposed curriculum for the teaching of Biotechnology in Nigerian universities to the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar A. Rasheed.
The Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, mni, MFR, FNAL, on the 7th of March 2018, received a delegation of Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) led by its president, Dr. Rufa’i Yusuf Ahmed in his office.
