Background
The Alliance for Earth Sciences, Engineering, and Development in Africa (AESEDA) was conceived in Pennsylvania State University in 2003 in conjunction with other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in America, and selected African Universities in Nigeria, South Africa and Angola, along with their respective stakeholders. It is designed to enable the integration of Science, Engineering and Social Science on novel educational and research initiatives to help develop the human capital needed for the responsible management of geo-resources in Africa.
