What's the difference in fixboot and fixmbr. When do we use each?

pfountotos

From my understanding, the /fixmbr switch repairs the MBR whereas the /fixboot switch writes and entirely new boot sector which in turn overwrites information. I think the correct answer is bootrec /fixmbr.

This is EXACTLY the same question as question 27. The correct answer is bootrec /fixboot.

The answer should be 'bootrec /rebuildbcd' Source: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/927392/use-bootrec-exe-in-the-windows-re-to-troubleshoot-startup-issues
