Your network contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain
contains a domain controller named DC1 that runs Windows Server 2012 R2.
You create an Active Directory snapshot of DC1 each day.
You need to view the contents of an Active Directory snapshot from two days ago.
What should you do first?

  • A. Run the dsamain.exe command.
  • B. Stop the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) service.
  • C. Start the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
  • D. Run the ntdsutil.exe command.

Hmm how would you know which Snapshot to mount with dsamain without first looking into ntdsutil / snapshot list

Wrong, FIRST - ntdsutil, so it`s D

hmmm... it's okay, that we can discuss the questions, but will anybody correct the answers?

Answer is NTDSUTIL (D) because of the fact that there are multiple snapshots. In order to pick the right one from 2 days ago, you have to list them all and mount the one you need to view, That’s done with NTDSUTIL: “Run Ntdsutil.exe to list the snapshots that are available and then mount the snapshot that you want to view.”, taken from here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753609(v=ws.10).aspx.

You need to view the contents of the snapshots not which snapshot to view.

Answer is A because the snapshots already exists...
